IS MARRIAGE WORTH THE TIME?

LAST Monday over 400 homosexuals rallied outside then went from office to office to convince our Senators and Delegates that two men or two women should be able to get ”married.”  The Court of Appeals (Maryland’s Supreme Court) could rule in their favor any day now.

IF those of us that believe that marriage is God’s design for one man and one woman don’t tell those same legislators to allow us to vote to put God’s definition into our Constitution we will soon have gay “marriage” in Maryland.

On Thursday, March 1 the first of two Marriage Amendment bills, SB 564, will be heard in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee in the Miller Senate Office Building at 1:00 PM.

The second bill, HB 919, will be heard in the House Judiciary Committee on March 15 at 1:00 PM.  More information on this bill will be following. Just save the date.

YOUR PRESENCE IS NEEDED AT BOTH OF THESE HEARINGS!

We are also planning a large Marriage Rally for the week of March 26.  Details will follow soon.

If you can testify, (we are especially asking Pastors to testify), you will need 20 copies of your 3 minute testimony to turn into the Committee before the hearing.

To sign up please call Senator Larry Haines’ office before March 1. His number is 410 -841-3683 or 301-858-3863.

On March 1 you will need to arrive by 12 noon to turn in your testimony. You will need a picture ID to get in the building and perseverance to stay late.

***Even if you plan to come to testify or just to swell the crowd we also need you to Contact Members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee (JPR)

Urge members of the JPR committee to support Senate Bill 564, Valid Marriages, and to give the bill a FAIR up or down VOTE.  Five members of the committee are sponsors of the bill, as indicated with an (S) before their name. Be sure to thank them! If you know anyone who lives in the districts of JPR committee members as listed below, ask them to contact their senator! You can call the General Assembly at 1-800-492-7122 or send an email.  To find out who your representative is go to www.mdelect.net. Hearing from just 10 constituents can greatly influence a lawmaker.
